#FreeTheNipple (NSFW)

Screen Shot 2014-10-01 at 9.29.54 PM The Twitter #FreeTheNipple campaign has become so big, it’s even got its own section on the Huffington Post. It was originally started by Scout Willis to protest against Instagram’s content moderation policy on nudity. Several of Scout’s photos were removed for nudity. She’s just trying to be Honestly Naked, can you blame her? There is now a film called “Free The Nipple” that was founded by Lina Esco, 29, who states, “Today, in the USA it is ILLEGAL for a woman to be topless in 37 states. In New York City, in 1992 it became LEGAL to be topless in public, but the NYPD continued to arrest women.” Reality is, if men can walk around without a shirt on without breaking the law, women want the right to do the same. The only technical difference is the SIZE of the breasts, which isn’t even true because I’ve seen plenty of “moobies” : Male Boobies.

Many women are now searching for freedom, specifically for their nipples. One artist, The Narcissister  is New York City’s ultimate nipple-ist, has single-handedly created a way for women to expose their breasts in an artistic fashion. The Narcissister’s goal is to promote the right women ought to have to walk around topless. Her campaign is tied to #FreeTheNipple in that her artistic costumes promote self-acceptance and freedom for both women and their breasts.

It’s not just Esco and The Narcissister that are promoting the #FreeTheNipple campaign, Scout Willis, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus are other celebrities whose nipples have perked from this campaign. There are plenty of other anonymous women who are proud of their breasts and searching eagerly for the freedom to expose them.
